Massive traffic jam on Koilwar Bridge

Ara/Patna: Due to heavy traffic jam on both sides of the Koilwar Bridge, the crucial highway connecting Patna to Ara remained non-operation for 10 hours on Saturday. The gravity of the situation can be gauged from the fact that long queues of vehicles were seen from Bhojpur to Bihta in Patna district.

Traffic started snarling on the Koilwar Bridge from 12 pm on Saturday due to increase in rush of heavy vehicles post-election and overtakes. Added to this a truck broke-down and further deteriorate the situation. Vehicle carrying goods and passenger from Uttar Pradesh to Bihar were also stuck in the jam.

Commuters regularly get stuck for hours on the Koilwar Bridge while going towards Ara and Buxar. Even the road is in bad condition. Local contractors have been given the job to maintain the road but situation has not improved.
