Bihar Central University draws rush of admission-seekers

PATNA: With only four days left for the submission of application forms for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses, the Central University of Bihar (CUB) is drawing a rush of admission seekers for both its Patna and Gaya campuses. The last date for submission of online or offline applications is April 25.

CUB has invited applications for admission to as many as 26 courses, including four integrated undergraduate programmes, 16 postgraduate programmes and six integrated MPhil-PhD programmes. This year, CUB is conducting the entrance test itself under the banner of 'Central University of Bihar Entrance Test (CUBET) 2014' for selection of candidates for admission to various courses. The online entrance test would be conducted at 35 centres across the country, including Bihar (at Patna, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, Kishanganj, Purnia, Darbhanga, Sasaram, Bhabhua and Motihari).

CUBET-2014 will be conducted on May 31 and June 1 and the results will be announced on June 4. The successful candidates will have to go through group discussion and personal interview for their final selection. Admission of selected candidates will be made between June 16 and 20.

The academic programmes of CUB are integrated undergraduate programmes, including four- year dual degree BA/BSc, BEd and five-year integrated BA/BSc. LLB (Hons.), postgraduate programmes in mathematics, statistics, biotechnology, life science, bioinformatics, environmental science, communication and media studies, development studies, economics, psychology, sociology, political science and international relations, English, Hindi, MSc in computer science and MTech computer science. The integrated MPhil-PhD programmes are imparted in life sciences, bioinformatics, mathematics, statistics, economics and political science and international relations.
