Not once but twice; Samastipur MP threatened yet again

June 4, 2011, Patna: JD(U) Lok Sabha MP Maheshwar Hazari has again received a SMS from an unidentified number, threatening to kill him. This is second time in a week that Samastipur legislature has received such text message. Earlier, on May 30, Hazari received an SMS, demanding Rs. 50 lakh from him or face the killing of his son. Accordingly an FIR was registered at Sachivalaya PS against unknown persons.
Taking the matter seriously then, Bihar Directory General of Police (DGP) Neelmani had directed the Sachivalaya police station to file an FIR and investigate the matter at the highest level. Police had also arrested a person named Manish in the case but nothing concrete was found.

Meanwhile police sources are saying that they are investigating the matter very seriously. The Patna police is in constant touch with its counterparts in Samastipur as the SIM cards used for sending the text message to the ruling party MP were issued from there.

Hazari is not the only politician of the state to receive threat calls on cellphones. Earlier, health minister and senior BJP leader Ashwini Kumar Choubey, RJD MLA Dinesh Chandra Singh, JD(U) MLA from Rupauli Bima Bharti had received similar threat calls on their mobile.
