Soaring and roaring; civil aviation set to get a boost in Bihar

Patna, May 28, 2011: Good news continues to trickle from Bihar. After power sector, it’s time for the aviation sector. Come July and you can avail aviation services from district headquarters of Darbhanga , Purnia and Gaya. The news was confirmed to esamaad.com by the manager of Spirit Airlines handling the operations at Patna Airport. The airline plans to connect these towns with state capital Patna.

The company has got the necessary technical clearance from the union civil aviation ministry. The airlines will use the Air Force base at Darbhanga and Purnia for its operations. The company has already signed an agreement with a German firm for the aircrafts which is expected to arrive by the end of next month.
Spirit Airlines is also planning to connect Ranchi and Jamshedpur with Patna, which will be taken up in due course.
The aircrafts will be ten seaters.
One can recall that the same airline tried to start these services last year, but due to some official reasons, could not do so.
This will be first time after dismantling of Darbhanga Airlines (owned by erstwhile Maharaja of Darbhanga) that a private company will start its operations from Darbhanga Airport.
